According to popular media outlets and common cultural beliefs, my body is not OK.
The messages we receive from the time we are little girls tell us that we need to be thin to be beautiful. We are taught that small is good. We try to shrink ourselves into the mold that the fashion magazines teach us is desirable.
It's time to break that mold. It's time to stop trying to reduce our selves until we disappear. It's time to be strong and show the world who we really are, curves and all.
The Divine Feminine does not apologize for who she is.
The Divine Feminine nourishes her body AND soul because she knows both are important.
The Divine Feminine does the hard work, but only for the right reasons.
Self-love and self-acceptance doesn't happen overnight but if you want it, you have to take an active stance to end the madness. That is what I'm doing today.
Tomorrow I may not feel so strong. Tomorrow the shame may overcome, once again. But this post, this image, will remind me of a day when I felt strong and perfect, exactly as I am. The memory of this moment of clarity will be enough to pull me out of the trenches of self-doubt, once again.
