In what appears to be dead, there is so much life.
By letting something go, like a once strong branch of a tree, we give opportunity to new life. The fungi, the bugs, the seedlings all exist in this space because of the fallen branch.
As we prepare for the longest night of the year, let us remember the great stillness that occurs as the sun rebuilds its strength. Can we do the same in our own lives?
I'm finding great comfort in living in harmony with the cycles of nature. This is a time to rest and reflect.
It's interesting that for many of us it's the busiest time of year.
There's so much excitement around the celebration of the birth of the sun, or the son of God, if you please. But let us remember to cradle this energy with tenderness, like a newborn baby.
Spring will come with all of its vigor but for now, let's go inward and prepare for birth, tending to the divine mother and babe with a gentle heart.
