OK, gonna be real with you guys. Yesterday did not go exactly as planned. I didn't fall of the wagon but it wasn't as perfect as the first 4 days. I had my meals planned out but the trouble happened when my meeting with my accountant ran over by an hour and I didn't get to eat lunch until after I picked up my daughter at 3:00. I didn't bring food because I thought we'd have time to eat before getting her. But, we tried out a new cafe and I got a beautiful salad with chicken. Healthy, right? Well, it was. But...I forgot to order the dressing on the side and I kind of just let it slide that there was this amazing sounding avocado cream drizzle on the salad. So, I know it was higher in fat than my plan for the day called for. If you remember, I'm doing this countdown to competition plan which alternates between days that have lower fat & carbs with higher protein and then days where the nutrition is more balanced. I was starving, so I went with it and enjoyed every bite. But then, I was supposed to get 3 more proteins in before the end of the day. I wasn't going to eat them if I wasn't hungry. It took me hours to decide what to do next. I made turkey burgers for my family really late, like 7:30 pm! I also made baked sweet potato fries. My original plan was to skip the sweet potatoes. But, in the end, I had a yellow container of the fries along with my burger on romaine leaf with sliced tomato and onion. I did not get my other two proteins in but I had an extra portion of starchy carb and healthy fat.
I think I stayed within my calorie range for the day (without counting, than you very much!) but I just mixed up my categories a bit. Totally fine, I can live with it! Oh and first Friday night in quite awhile without a glass of wine and guess what, I survived! LOL. Sorry for the super long post but keeping a daily diary like this is really helping me. Hope you're finding it useful in some way too.
My meal plan for the day:
Chocolate Shakeology blended w/ coconut oil, ice & water
Steel Cut oats with coconut oil and 2 fried eggs
Chicken salad with avocado cream
Turkey Burger on Romain w/ tomato & onion & baked sweet potato fries
Workout: Cardio Fix Extreme. It was really good to get a nice rolling sweat with this powerful cardio workout. But dang it! Still plenty of squats and lunges to get through with my shaky quads from the last few days!
